How It Work's

How Tattoo Removal Work's

With a short pulse duration, high pulse rates and adjustable spot sizes the Polaris QS-Yag is the perfect partner to the Polaris Ruby 694.

The Polaris Q-Switched Nd:Yag laser produces pulses of energy that are very short but high in power. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the tattoo but not the surrounding skin.

A combination of light absorption and acoustic shock help to break down the ink into smaller particles that the body can dispose of naturally.

Healing Process And Aftercare

Welcome to our guide on healing and aftercare for laser tattoo removal.  Aftercare is crucial for a successful and safe tattoo removal process. In this guide, we will provide you with all the necessary information and tips to ensure a smooth healing process.

How It Feels (Does It Hurt)?

Laser tattoo removal can be uncomfortable, but the level of pain varies depending on the individual's pain tolerance and the size and location of the tattoo. Some people describe the sensation as similar to being snapped with a rubber band, while others compare it to a hot grease splatter. However, most people find the discomfort to be tolerable and worth the end result of having their unwanted tattoo removed.

What To Expect After Laser Tattoo Removal?

During tattoo removal you will notice a 'frosting' effect giving the skin a chalky appearance, this is a completely normal reaction, indicating that carbon dioxide is being released from the skin.

Straight after tattoo removal the area will be red and slightly swollen, this is completely normal and painless and may stay like this for a few days so don't be alarmed.

In the days following the tattoo removal treatment there may be a little itchiness, some redness, and slight blistering in some cases but clients are fine to go about their daily routine. The lasered area will feel tender and sensitive at first but these symptoms will wear off within a few days.

What Are The Side Effects Of Laser Tattoo Removal?

Blistering

Some clients experience blistering during the healing process, this normal and nothing to worry about, it's a  natural response of the body to the laser energy, and usually lasts for a few days before the blister ruptures. Do Not attempt to pop the blister, it is important to let it resolve naturally. We will provide you with detailed instructions on how to care for your skin during the healing process.

Swelling

Swelling is a common side effect after laser tattoo removal. It usually subsides within a few days and can be managed with ice packs and over-the-counter pain relievers. If the swelling persists or is accompanied by other symptoms, it's important to contact your healthcare provider.

Redness/Purpura

When undergoing laser tattoo removal, it is common to experience redness and purpura (purple discoloration of the skin) in the treated area. This is a normal reaction to the laser energy breaking up the ink particles in the skin. The redness and purpura should subside within a few days, and can be managed with ice packs and good aftercare. It is important to follow the aftercare instructions provided by your laser technician to ensure proper healing.

White frosting

The White Stuff Called Frosting

The white frosting you see right after a laser tattoo removal session it is very much a good thing.

This is a result of small gas (carbon dioxide) bubbles rising to the surface of your skin and this reaction indicates the laser is penetrating the ink effectively.

It also shows that your body is reacting and healing quickly. The frosting reaction fades after the first few sessions.
